Sticks and stones may break my bones but words… words. Words hurt! The damage we do with our mouths every day is monstrous. Lying, slandering, gossiping, screaming, tricking, boasting… mouths can be powerful instruments of evil. You’ve probably heard the rumors, been hurt by a lie, or felt devastated by angry voices- so theres no denying the need to get a handle on what we say.

The Bible has a mouthful of information about taming our tongues, guarding our mouths, and choosing our words wisely. Join Oasis as we finish off the year exploring what God has to say about your mouth- and the things that come out of it.

Deep End Series

Fear. Most of the time we hide from it, scream at it, or run away from it. But fear can be a good thing. Reverence is a fear that understands its purpose. And we should revere our God.

On Sunday mornings (Deep End), Oasis will discover what it means to fear God.

Winter Series: Frames

The old saying goes that “a picture is worth a thousand words”. There really is a deeper story behind even the simplest of snapshots. The Bible gives us many pictures of different characters. These pictures tell a story that still has a deep impact on our lives. At Oasis on Wednesday nights, for 5 weeks we’ll be taking a look at the pictures in the life of Joseph- frame by frame. Are you ready?

Parents, why don’t you think about having a conversation about these topics with your student every Thursday- see what they have to say and where they have room to grow? I know it could be uncomfortably… but wouldn’t it be worse to miss out on exploring this with your Middle Schooler!?

Mission Trip

Project 313 is the Oasis summer Mission trip- July 15th -20th.

The Oasis trip this year will focus on serving with multiple ministry partners in the city of Detroit. We will be involved in daily vacation bible schools, home repair, ministry to the homeless, and other local church ministries.

The average day will begin early with breakfast and devotions at the Warren campus. Then, in ministry teams, we will go out to our locations at various sites throughout the city. After a full day’s work, we will return to the Warren campus to clean up, eat, and attend a special event or play some crazy games.

The Warren campus is fully equipped with kitchen, gym, lodging rooms, and bathrooms/showers. The only thing you need is bedding and toiletries!

The cost is $225 per person and students must be entering 7th or 8th grade in the coming school year.

IT’S INTERVIEW TIME, that’s the next phase of the mission trip process. Interview dates are the weeks of April 2-5, April 16-19 and April 23-26 - ALL DAY !!!! Please contact Ben Hixson to set up your interview time. INTERVIEWS MUST BE COMPLETED BY THE END OF APRIL.
