Influenced or Influencer?

Being Influenced or Influencing Others? That is the question. Before I come in to work, I always try and spend some time in the Word. Today I read and meditated on Psalm 120 and 121. In Psalm 120:6-7:
Too long have I lived among those who hate peace.
I am a man of peace; but when I speak, they are for war.
This unauthored Psalm showed me the heart of a man who lived among a people that was not like him. I wonder how he managed to live as someone who wanted peace when others wanted war? But, the cool thing was that this man didn’t just live among them, but he SPOKE for peace. “When I speak…” This is an encouragement to me, since its often so easy to not speak when we live in a crowd that isn’t like us. But, he did speak and who knows the affect each one of us could have on the people around us, if we were to “Let our conversation be full of grace, seasoned with salt….then we would know how to answer everyone…” Col 4:6.
We have a Deep End series coming up called Reaching Your World. My heart is always to see new students accept Christ as their Lord and savoir. Another big passion of mine is that students can comfortably share Christs message of grace with their friends. One of the best ways to do this is to be prepared to share how we accepted Christ as our savior. Be sure to check out Reaching Your Wolrd during the Deep End time.
