Who:

• This is for all our upcoming 7^th and 8^th grade students
• Our team from Troy will be 20 students and approximately 5 leaders. The total team size will be limited to 30 students and approximately 8 leaders with other campus involvement.

What Is Angel House:

Angel House is a multicultural organization reaching out to the immigrant community in Dearborn.  They help our neighbors through educational, health, and counseling programs.  Our team will be doing several things to help support the ministry that is headed by Diane and Russ Frank.  We’ve served with Angel House for several years now and every trip leaves a lasting impression on our team and on the community!

When:

July 25th-July 30th, 2010

In early July we’ll have a parent and student immersion day (TBD) so that for parents have an opportunity to see and experience with  each student what we’ll be doing.  We also have 3 meetings planned for June 13th, June 27th, and July 18th at the Troy campus from 12:30p-2:30p.  The meeting on the 18th of July will be for parents to attend as well. 

Cost:

$275 per student

This cost includes a financial gift to Angel House, food, housing costs and all materials for training meetings and student camps we’ll be leading.  It DOES NOT include the immersion experience which will cost $10 per person for lunch.  There is an opportunity to raise support once selected to the team.

What To Expect:

This is truly a cross cultural mission experience right in our backyard.  Angel House reaches out to a   community that is almost entirely composed of individuals from Yemen and other areas of the Middle East.  We’ll be running a children’s camp, doing work projects at Angel House, running sports camps, building friendships, learning about Islam and much more.  Students will be stretched in their own faith as they learn about the message of Islam and contrast it with the message of Christianity.  This trip takes our students on a journey they’ve probably never thought about before as they come face to face with the Islamic world just down the street from their own community.

It’s hard to believe this is the 6th Oasis Dodgebowl Main Event.  Teams have come and gone.  Students seeking glory have come rockin black eyes, headbands, those striped tube socks, facepaint and their best looks of itimidation.  But, only the champions are remembered!  Here’s your shot at Middle School Dodgeball infamy! 

So, you know the drill!  Oasis pulls out all the stops for this last BIG HURRAH of the school year.  Come ready to dive, dip, dodge and duck your way to victory in the biggest middle school dodge ball tourney in the world!  Ok, we don’t know if it’s really the biggest, but it’s definitely the best! 

When: March 31st from 6:30-8:15pm

Cost: FREE

Team Size: Put together your own team of 7 with friends from school.  And don’t forget to build team unity with matching uniforms!  And if you’re not part of a team, then don’t worry about it, we’ll put you on a team when you get here that night! 

Prizes: The winning team will not only have massive bragging rights, but will win a BIG SHINY TROPHY and another fantastic prize.  There will also be a prize for the team with the best uniforms.  This is a great way to introduce some of your friends to Oasis so don’t miss out!
