Small groups take a break during the summer months.  We think a little breather is a good thing for everybody!  Wednesday Night Oasis and small groups will kick back off September 15th at 6:30pm.  During the summer months you’ll have a chance to request who you’d like to be in a small group with for the fall.  If you’re not connected with a friend yet here at Oasis, come out to all our summer events and get plugged in!

Below is a typical rundown of what how we’ll be spending out time on Wednesdays once the school year starts back up in the fall.  Can’t wait…

The Rundown…

  • 6:30-7p- Hang Out (connecting with friends, video games, ping pong, pool, the Oasis Cafe, music videos, games, just having a good time, Oasis videos…)
  • 7-7:40p- Incredible worship, Games, Oasis Annoucements and the Intro… that’s a short talk to intro the discussion for small groups
  • 7:40-8:15p- Small groups separated by grade and gender led by 2 adult leaders (check out the staff page to meet our 2009-2010 crew).  Small groups are usually 5 to 10 students who talk about relevant issues of life based on God’s Word, enjoy life together, serve the community together, pray for each other and encourage one another to fall more deeply in love with Jesus Christ.

Why Small Groups

Relationships are the most important part of WSM and Oasis!  They are our foundation, our top priority and what we spend most of our time pouring into.  Why?  Because Jesus spent 3 full years right up until the time of his death to build relationships with his followers that were ground in love!  We figure that you can’t go wrong if you’re trying to imitate the ways of Jesus. But, there’s more… they’re exciting, refreshing and full of opportunities to build friendships that will last a life time!

Every month or two small groups take a night off to put on a Main Event.  This is a giant event set up for middle school students in our community.  It comes in all shapes and sizes.  Here’s a few of the favorites… Backyard Bash, Dodgebowl, Oasis Christmas, Gameshow Network (GSN), Oasis Hoe Down, The Amazing Race, Bunco…

Oasis exists to help the greatest number of Middle School students come to KNOW and GROW in the REFRESHMENT found only in JESUS CHRIST!
