Six years ago we as a student ministries decided to start running our own winter retreat.

Every year since then we have seen God do amazing things in and through hundreds upon hundreds of student’s and leader’s hearts. From our first retreat, Reverb, to last year’s rEVOLution many have come to know Christ as their Savior for their first time and many more can look back at their time that weekend as a turning point of growth in their relationship with Jesus.

In talking to all of you about our winter experience we say “It is the biggest thing that goes on in the school year for us.”

It is, but not because we plan some crazy games or because the worship music is well practice and sounds good or because the speaker is elegant and humorous.  No, it is the biggest thing that goes on in the school year for us because it has nothing to do with us and everything to do with a powerful, loving God who tears down walls of sin and makes hearts whole with His unchanging love.

Over the last six years, lives have been resolved to change by and for the love of Christ.  We’ve seen God’s love and power in the storyline of reconciliation He has been crafting since the beginning of time.  The love of God has reverberated loudly through the heart of our student ministry and our community as He has moved us.  God-centered revolutions have been sparked.

And this year we prayerfully await with great anticipation the work that God is going to do in the tribes of Oasis, WSM, Troy, Warren, White Lake, Royal Oak, Lake Orion, Farmington Hills, Detroit, in every house, neighborhood and school as we see our part in part in His Kingdom.
